27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”
27 And he shall confirm a covenant with the many [for] one week; and in the midstD6071 of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and because of the protectionD6072 of abominationsD6073 [there shall be] a desolator, even until that the consumption and what is determined shall be poured out upon the desolateD6074.
midst - Strictly, 'in the dividing of the week.' protection - Lit. 'wing.' see Isa. 8.8. It might be rendered. 'and the abominations (idols) of the desolator shall be on the pinnacle' (i.e. of the temple). abominations - idols. desolate - Others, 'the desolator.'

for the overspreading of abominations: Or, with the abominable armies.
