Hebrews 11

NET

25 choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to enjoy sin’s fleeting pleasure.

Darby

25 choosingD9127 rather to suffer affliction along with the people of God than to have [the] temporary pleasure of sin;

Darby Bible Notes

choosing - These are aorists, but in English the present participle is joined to the perfect tense as characterizing the action. 'He refused ... choosing;' 'he refused ... having chosen' would make a different time of it, not the same. In Greek all is referred to the time of speaking.

KJV

25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
