19 When such a person hears the words of this oath he secretly blesses himself and says, ‘I will have peace though I continue to walk with a stubborn spirit.’ This will destroy the watered ground with the parched.
19 and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curseD1360, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to sweep away the drunkenD1361 with the thirsty.
curse - Or 'oath,' as ver 14, and elsewhere. drunken - Or 'the watered.'
19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imaginationK896of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirstK897:
imagination: Or, stubbornness. drunkenness to thirst: Heb. the drunken to the thirsty.
