18 As he was saying these things, a leader came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”
18 As he spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler coming in did homage to him, saying, My daughter has by thisD6714 died; but come and lay thy hand upon her and she shall live.
this - Mark 5.23 has 'is at extremity;' Luke 8.42 'was dying.' It is possible that Matthew may give the result of the servant's message. It may be translated 'has just now died,' or 'has even now died.' see Rev. 2.8.
18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
