36 For Jehovah will judge his people, And shall repent in favour ofD1384 his servants; When he seeth that powerD1385 is gone, And there is none shut up or leftD1386.
of - Or 'shall have compassion upon.' power - Lit. 'hand.' left - Or 'at liberty.' The phrase seems to be a proverbial expression, in itself a paronomasia, to express forcibly 'the totality.' cf. 1 Kings 14.10; 2 Kings 14.26.
