20 Now the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf—signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur.
20 And the beast was taken, and the false prophet that [was] with him, who wrought the signs before him by which he deceived them that receivedD9631 the mark of the beast, and those that worshipD9632 his image. Alive were both cast into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone;
received - I do not say 'had received' here, because then the deceiving would come after the receiving, which is not the sense. worship - Or 'do homage to.' As ch. 3.9.
