16 You follow Omri’s edicts and all the practices of Ahab’s dynasty; you follow their policies. Therefore I will make you an appalling sight; the city’s inhabitants will be taunted derisively, and nations will mock all of you.”
16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab; and ye walk in their counsels: that I should make thee a desolationD6378, and the inhabitants thereofD6379 a hissing; and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
desolation - Or 'an astonishment.' thereof - i.e. Samaria, ch. 1.5.
