29 The fiery bellows of judgment burn fiercely. But there is too much dross to be removed. The process of refining them has proved useless. The wicked have not been purged.

burned - * i.e. so that the current of air, needed to cause the lead to carry off the dross, ceased, leaving unrefined (reprobate) silver. It might read 'the bellows puff.' fire - Others, 'out of their fire [cometh] lead.'
