1 Woe to those who live in ease in Zion, to those who feel secure on Mount Samaria. They think of themselves as the elite class of the best nation. The family of Israel looks to them for leadership.
1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion and that are secureD6284 in the mountain of Samaria, the renowned of the firstD6285 of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come.
secure - Or 'careless,' as Isa. 32.9. first - Or 'named the chief;' but cf. Num. 24.20.
1 Woe to them [that are] at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, [which are] named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
