19 However, God’s solid foundation remains standing, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.”
19 YetD8914 the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.
Yet - The Greek word affirms with certainty where doubt may have been raised. This overthrowing might seem to call in question God's foundation. Yet that remains firm. Speculation as to what the foundation is is futile, particularly that of those who speak of the invisible church. The church is founded, a building; not a foundation. It is simply God's foundation abstractly.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sureK7135, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
