4 David sent some messengers to get her. She came to him and he went to bed with her. (Now at that time she was in the process of purifying herself from her menstrual uncleanness.) Then she returned to her home.
4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in to him, and he lay with her; and she had purifiedD1978 herself from her uncleanness; and she returned to her house.
purified - Or 'and she purified.'
4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
(for she was purified from her uncleanness) and she returned: Or, when she had purified herself, etc. she returned.
