2 Corinthians 12

NET

16 But be that as it may, I have not burdened you. Yet because I was a crafty person, I took you in by deceit!

Darby

16 But be it so. *I* did not burden you, but being crafty I took you by guileD8508.

Darby Bible Notes

guile - The apostle is not saying that he did this, but is answering a charge that he had kept up appearances by taking nothing himself, but knew how to indemnify himself by using Titus in order to receive from them. The charge was false, as he proceeds to show.

KJV

16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
