12 For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.
12 For we see now through a dim windowD8334 obscurely, but then face to face; now I know partially, but then I shall know according as I also have been known.
window - That is, through some medium which, in degree, hinders vision. The word means also 'a mirror,' but it is used for window, made, not of clear transparent glass, as now, but of semi-transparent materials. In this verse, 'know' (partially) is ginosko, the words used for 'know' and 'known' in the last clause of the verse are from epiginosko, which is stronger, as in Matt. 11.27.
12 For now we see through a glass, darklyK6937; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
