4 Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Whoever - He who has that character. greatest - The Greek word is the comparative, hence 'greater' than others. it is thus characteristic, not personal. 'Greatest' answers to it in English.
4 “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
