were - Lit. 'it was;' probably the 'molten image' served merely as pedestal for the 'graven image,' thus forming in reality but one complete image. see ch. 18.20,31. Micah - Found in the forms Mica, Micaiah, Micajahu, meaning, 'who is like Jah.' See Mic. 7.18.
