31 The one who comes from above is superior to all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks about earthly things. The one who comes from heaven is superior to all.
31 He who comes from above is above all. He who has his origin in the earthD7480 is of the earth, and speaks [as] of the earth. He who comes out of heaven is above all,
earth - Or 'is from the earth.' The sense is 'having by nature his origin' here below, he is of and belongs to the earth. 'Of' (ek) is characteristic.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
