5 Before Jeremiah could turn to leave, the captain of the guard added, “Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed to govern the towns of Judah. Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.
5 And while he had not yet given answerD5419; [he said,] Yea, go back to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and abide with him in the midst of the people; or go wheresoever it seemeth right in thy sight to go. And the captain of the body-guard gave him provisionsD5420 and a present, and let him go.

So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
5 Now while he was not yet gone backH7725, he said], said, Go backH7725 also to GedaliahH1436 the sonH1121 of AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, whom the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 hath made governorH6485 over the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and dwellH3427 with him amongH8432 the peopleH5971: or goH3212 wheresoever it seemeth convenientH3477 H5869 unto thee to goH3212. So the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 gaveH5414 him victualsH737 and a rewardH4864, and let him goH7971.
