fearing - These are aorists, but in English the present participle is joined to the perfect tense as characterizing the action. 'He refused ... choosing;' 'he refused ... having chosen' would make a different time of it, not the same. In Greek all is referred to the time of speaking.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
