The Babylonians will be Judged foir Their Wickedness

6 “But all these nations will someday taunt him and ridicule him with proverbial sayings: ‘Woe to the one who accumulates what does not belong to him (How long will this go on?)—he who gets rich by extortion!’

Darby

The Babylonians will be Judged foir Their Wickedness

6 Shall not all these take up a proverb about him, and a taunting riddle against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that loadeth himself with pledgesD6437!

Darby Bible Notes

pledges - There is a play on the word, which may also mean 'thick clay.' So in ver. 7 'bite' may mean 'exact usury of.' cf. Jer. 8.17; Ezek. 22.12.
