9 He looked for Ahaziah, who was captured while hiding in Samaria. They brought him to Jehu and then executed him. They did give him a burial, for they reasoned, “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with his whole heart.” There was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to rule in his place.
9 And he sought Ahaziah; and they caught him (for he had hid himself in Samaria), and brought him to Jehu, and slew him; and they buried him, for they said, He is a son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Jehovah with all his heart. And in the house of Ahaziah there was no one who was able to [hold] the kingdom.
9 And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he [is] the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
9 And he soughtH1245 AhaziahH274: and they caughtH3920 him,(for he was hidH2244 in SamariaH8111,) and broughtH935 him to JehuH3058: and when they had slainH4191 him, they buriedH6912 him: Because, saidH559 they, he is the sonH1121 of JehoshaphatH3092, who soughtH1875 the LORDH3068 with all his heartH3824. So the houseH1004 of AhaziahH274 had no powerH3581 to keepH6113 still the kingdomH4467.
