26 “Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and as surely as you live, it is the Lord who has kept you from shedding blood and taking matters into your own hands. Now may your enemies and those who seek to harm my lord be like Nabal.
26 And now, my lord, [as] Jehovah liveth, and [as] thy soul liveth, seeing Jehovah has restrained thee from coming with bloodshed, and from avengingD1909 thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
avenging - Lit. 'saving' or 'delivering,' also in vers. 31,33.
