17 Now in giving the following instruction I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.
17 But [in] prescribingD8313 [to you on] this [which I now enter on], I do not praiseD8314, [namely,] thatD8315 ye come together, not for the better, but for the worse.
prescribing - The Greek word is used in New Testament for 'charging,' or 'commanding.' see Matt. 10.5; Luke 5.14, 'enjoined'; 1 Thess. 4.11. praise - See 'I praise' in ver. 2. that - Or 'because.'
17 Now in this that I declare [unto you] I praise [you] not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
